8. letting go and not being a total control freak (i started doing this late in the year and it's still a work in progress)
7. the driving trip up California's Route 1
6. going to Spain even when the US was on the brink of war and shit was scary
5. camping in big sur--the first time camping in my entire life.
4. entering the wonderful life of a freelancer
3. being laid off (not really my doing, but am glad it happened)
2. spending time with my Grandmother as often as I could.

9. spent lots of time going out and about in the city, to lots of different kinds of parties and bars and readings and events
8. sold off or gave away a ton of my stuff
7. kissed boys
6. met lots of new people, some of whom were actually pretty neat
5. kept up with my old friends, who are also pretty neat
4. got my beautiful, big, totally awesome new apartment
3. took my cool-ass job at penguin putnam
2. had many adventures. even when they ended in heartache, frustration, doubt, aggravation, and broken bones. but mainly they were filled with fun.
